How Does IGI Grade Green Lab Diamonds
Each LUCCE VERDANT™ Green Diamond comes with a certificate from the International Gemological Institute (IGI). They are the world’s most trusted laboratory when it comes to accurate grading of lab-created gemstones, including lab-grown green diamonds. Each IGI certificate guarantees that your lush stone is laboratory-grown, naturally green in color, and has the exact characteristics that you fell in love with. IGI measures each green diamond’s cut, color, clarity, and carat (better known as the 4Cs), as well as other important characteristics.
“The IGI Fancy Colored Diamond Report includes the gemstone’s description, [...] as well as its shape, cutting style, measurements, fancy color, and other relevant gemological details."

Frequently Asked Questions: Green Lab-Grown Diamonds
1. How do I take care of my LUCCE VERDANT™ Green Diamond?
Diamonds are the hardest material on Earth, rated a perfect 10 on the Moh’s scale. Your green diamond is the same—it’s a durable gemstone that is designed to last more than a lifetime. That being said, proper care is still important to let your Forever Piece’s lush color shine. Avoid wearing them when actively working with your hands or engaging in activities that involve chemicals and abrasives: swimming in chlorine water, working in the garden, playing sports, or working out.
2. How can I choose the shade of green that I’ll adore?
LUCCE VERDANT™ Green Diamond’s selector is designed to showcase its vibrant colors. You can immediately see the different shades of lush green that best represent your love, and compare it with other diamonds of a similar carat weight.
3. What green diamond shapes are available?
While the most-loved green diamond shapes are the timeless round and gentle pear, LUCCE VERDANT™ Green Diamonds are also available in oval, princess, emerald, cushion, marquise, radiant, and heart shapes. Learn more about what each one means when choosing the best diamond shape for your engagement ring.
A Legendary Green Diamond: The Dresden Green

Known as the largest and finest natural green diamond in history is the 41-carat Dresden Green. It is currently housed at the New Green Vault of Dresden Castle in East Germany, where it resided for centuries. The Dresden Green is a brilliant pear cut, with a similar structure to an old mine cut. Comparing historical measurements to the Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA) modern rating system, it has the following characteristics:
Shape and Cut: Modified Pear-Shaped Brilliant
Carat: 41 Carats
Color: Green
Clarity: VS1
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
This astonishing work of nature has a rich history, beginning from Indian mines, until it made its way to Saxon royalty. During Alexander III’s rule, the Dresden Green was set by Court Jeweler Johann Friedrich Dinglinger into a badge. Then, by Geneva goldsmith Andre Jacques Pallard, it was transformed into another badge, combined with the 49-carat Saxon White—another prized jewel from the Green Vault. After the Seven Years’ War, Diessbach from Austrian Prague was commissioned to dismantle the badge into a shoulder knot with the Saxon White and a hat ornament with the Dresden Green. These two masterpieces still exist today.
