Richard and Ann - Proposal Story
You know what is sweeter than being engaged to your best friend? The fact that the Lord, who is love himself, is the one who is writing your personal love story. Here is the proposal story of Richard and Ann, and how they stepped out in faith to start their journey to forever.
"Ann and I met at church in the year 2013. At that time, actually, Ann did not like me too much - she didn't like me at all lol. But we got close 2014 when we decided to make a band together.
From the year 2014-2016, I could say, that our friendship really grew. I remember talking to my friend before and saying, "Sino kaya magiging boyfriend ni Ann noh? Dapat sobrang lupet nun." Ever since, I've always cared for her - even as a friend.
2016, when I graduated, we got to bond more because that was the most active year for our band. I remember the times we would stay in Starbucks and feeling the joy of working together and just enjoying one another's company. Next thing I knew, I already liked her.
I took time to actually pray about it, and I knew I wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so I waited for one year. During 2018, the time finally came where I knew I wanted to pursue her. November 24, 2018 was the first time I took her out on a date. I remember giving her all the gifts that I bought the previous year but restrained from giving. I remember giving her the bouquet of daisies that I knew she loved, and seeing the door slammed in my face. (she was really nervous lol)
She said yes to courtship that day, and she said yes to being in a relationship on March 10, 2019 through a letter that simply said, "Amos 3:3 Do two people walk together unless they have agreed to meet? I agree to walk with you."
I remember throughout the course of our relationship, there was a word that I would always tell her -- "Always." I would say this in the times I would assure her of my love for her. I would say this whenever I wanted to let her know that I won't leave.
Last August 19, 2019, I finally proposed to my best friend. I simply told her, "I don't want us to live a life of fear. I want us to always live a life of faith." I got down on one knee and asked, "Always?" She made me the happiest man alive when she responded with, "Always."
Our relationship was and still is not perfect. But I'd like to believe that it is the perfect love story because The One who is writing it is Love Himself. What Ann and I can and will always, always boast about is the goodness and faithfulness of our Abba Father. He began the good work in our relationship, we are sure He will continue and never stop. He is our "always.""
