Joshua and Richelle - Proposal Story
Congratulations to our newly engaged couple, Joshua & Richelle!
Your love story is a reminder to us of how God makes everything beautiful in its perfect time, how each story is one-of-a-kind and precious, and how love will always prevail even in the uncertain.
Get to know their love story as told by Richelle:
We don't know exactly [how we met] but JJ remembers meeting me in Leaders' Camp 2014 and what I can remember is accepting his friend request on Facebook years ago (although he wouldn't admit that he's the one who sent the friend request. HAHA).
We didn't have the same circle of friends in church back then but I added him because he's a churchmate. Over the years, we randomly chat from time to time but it was all very sporadic and we only really got to know each other last year when he asked me out for dinner.
I prayed and confided with my friends about the whole thing, then eventually I started having feelings for him and I realized I already had a decision so I figured I should say yes to him despite others telling me to prolong the courtship and enjoy that season more.
Getting to know and courtship stage only lasted a couple months for us so some might think it was too soon considering how we're not exactly friends prior to that stage pero ayoko kasing maging mag-MU kami. That's what I'm avoiding the most.
Also, we're old enough to know what we want in life and we see eye to eye on stuff that truly matter which is why there was really no reason for me to not say yes to him even if it seems "fast" for others.
Everything just fell into the right place and I had peace with my decision. When you know, you know.
What I appreciate about JJ the most is his character. He is really sincere and consistent, and to me that's a big deal because I strongly believe that actions speak louder than words. I love how secure I am in our relationship since day 1.
For the proposal, I really had no idea about the whole thing! It was our first anniversary so I didn't think of it too much when he told me we'd eat in a nice restaurant and I should doll up. I had a feeling that he was up to something because he was acting a bit weird several weeks prior to that day but I really just thought it was a simple surprise, not a proposal.
And having our loved ones with us that day was the cherry on top.
I was even more shocked when he told me the story behind the ring.. how he came up with the design and how he already had it since last year. My initial thought was, "Sure ka talaga saken kahit 1 month palang tayo noon?! Sobrang grabe lang."
Also, he told me he drove all the way to my parents in Laguna just to ask for their blessing. I'm amazed on how he was able to do all that without me catching him hahahaha
The lengths he went through just to propose to me.. sobrang kilig and I feel so undeserving of such love.
Words aren't enough to express how grateful I am to God for orchestrating our love story and putting the right people in our lives especially in this season. I'm ready to face the unknown because I have JJ and I'm excited to start the rest of our lives together. Grabe nga pala talaga kapag God-written ang love story it will really be one-of-a-kind. He really does make everything beautiful in its time.
