King and Sherlyn - Proposal Story
Each of us has a story to tell. For King and Sherlyn, it is about their love story that was indeed handwritten by God. Here is the complete proposal story as told by King:
1. A Short Backstory Of Our God’s Handwritten Love Story
Sherlyn & I started as totally & completely strangers. I officially met her in Victory Fort church where God laid the very foundation of our relationship. To meet your future wife in a church is truly an amazing thing that can never happen out of will but out of God’s grace only.
In the span of 5 years, our relationship was never a smooth ride always. Like any other relationship, ours was never exempted from all trials. But every time we were both at our breaking point, we also found ourselves on our knees asking for God’s intervention. Now, we are both fully convinced that apart from God, relationship may hardly survive and may hardly thrive. For it is only by Him who design relationship and only through Him it will grow & blossom the way He intended it to.
2. The Proposal
Last Year, December 2018, God spoke to me and called me to step out to propose to Sherlyn for this year 2019. I was so afraid because I have nothing yet to offer to her apart from my heart. But I was also excited at the same time because that was the ultimate goal, that someday we’re gonna stand before God as we pursue a lifetime commitment with one another in marriage.
In our 58th monthsary, I found myself again on my knees. My proposal to Sherlyn took place at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) store from Burgos Circle, BGC last November 5, 2019 on a Tuesday. I’ve chosen that place because we have a lot of memories from “The Trees” outside the store, located right in the middle of Burgos Circle.
I invited her to have coffee date with me at CBTL because I told her I’m so stressed at work and I needed to chill a bit with her. I asked the CBTL crew a day before if they can reserve one of the seats in the 2nd floor for us because that’s the perfect spot for my proposal plan.
The proposal began through a letter that I wrote to Sherlyn a night before which will give her a hint of what I’m about to do. It say’s from that letter “This is not an accident that you’re reading this... then I wrote my unceasing and unchanging admiration for her through the years and what God is calling us to in the season we are in. Then at the last part, I wrote, “Wait for my call”.
I went down and met all our closest friends and my brothers who are already ready and excited. I then gave a cue to the CBTL crew to play the background music. I went outside the store, right under where she’s sitting at. Then I called her and asked if she was able to read the letter. She’s gigged and said “Yes! Nabasa ko. Para san yun? Asan ka?” I said, “Tingin ka sa bintana sa baba. I’m gonna hang up now. Just watch from there”
“Dear, you are the most precious gift I have received from God. And somehow, I find myself undeserving for having you. But still God entrusted you to me. And tonight, I want to honor that trust from Him. Would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?
“Will you marry me?”
And right then & there she gave me the most excited & joyful “YES” I have received from her. Now we are finally engaged!!! Indeed, when you trust God's timing He will make everything beautiful & magnificent in His time.
Thank you Lucce Rings for adding sparkle in this very special night between me & my fiancée. To reach this milestone that we are in right now, is the greatest moment of our relationship together thus far. And I wanna thank you for celebrating and taking delight with us.
