Amidst the quarantine due to the pandemic, Justin was still able to pull-off his proposal to the love of his life - Ellaine. Congratulations Justin and Ellaine! Your successful engagement and love story is an inspiration to many lovers during the pandemic. Here is the incredible love story of Justin and Ellaine:
"It all started last year when I came back from my vacation in Canada. I was already with someone, but quite honestly, I couldn’t see a future with who I was with, and I knew that it wouldn’t be fair to her if I wasn’t happy.
I happened to see an IG story through my best friend’s (TJ) girlfriend at that time. That was the first time I ever saw her, Ellaine, and I asked TJ who she was. The next day, he sent me her IG name and I followed her immediately. She followed back! But the worst discovery for me at that time was that she had a boyfriend. I had no intention of destroying the relationship in any way, and that’s what held me back from messaging her.
We’d only exchange conversation through GIFs on IG – like “Hello GIF” or “Good Morning GIF” etc. Until one day, out of the blue I said to her “I want to see you.” During that time, her long-term boyfriend and her had broken up. It was August 12 when we met, and it was really like “love at first sight”.
But it came to a point where Ellaine and her ex started talking again and they were back together. It was on November 24 and she asked me to stop communicating. It was so painful, and I realized the lines of this song was so true “if you really love someone, you will let them say goodbye and leave”. So, after that day, we didn’t talk at all. All I did was focus on work and I went to the church every day.
I realized that love can not really be measured by the time that is spent with a person because in the three months that we were together, I already knew that she was the one, the woman I could not live without. On December 24, she messaged me. She had just gotten back from her trip to Bali, Indonesia, and she told me she got engaged. I was so devastated, I thought I would never see her again, but she suddenly said that she wasn’t happy and that she wanted to be with me but she didn’t have the courage and strength to start all over again.
It was difficult on my end, because battling between almost giving up or holding on until we’d be okay. Every time that we’d meet each other or go on a date, we would never forget to ask God for guidance and blessings.
Yes, Ellaine got engaged twice now, it has been a year since we got to know each other, 2 months as being girlfriend and boyfriend, and a month now as fiancé.
All I can say is that nothing is impossible with God. Always pray and be grateful for all the blessings that you receive every day. I am very proud to say that my fiancé and soon to be wife is Ellaine Rose Maninang."
