Don-don and Clarisse - Proposal Story
True love grows through time and recognises no barriers. After 11 years of being together, and no matter the pandemic, Don-don orchestrated this one-of-a-kind surprise for Clarisse. Thank you for inspiring us to always believe in love. As told by Clarisse, here is how Don-don made her the happiest girl in the word...
"How I was made the happiest girl in the world last September 27, 2020:
For our 11th anniversary, Don-don and I planned to have a photoshoot (the one that involves a legit photographer lol) a day before our actual anniversary to make up for our cancelled travel plans. (Edit: Actually, the photoshoot was his plan which he lured me into agreeing.) Then, after that, we'll have a salubong dinner at Blackbird (which was also his idea). At least, to my knowledge, that was the plan. The only plan.
September 27 came.
The photoshoot went as planned until the second layout. For the second layout, one of the concepts was "projector photography" so we had to stand in front of a huge screen with a projector as our lighting. BUT, few minutes into the second layout, a video played on the screen. Of course, I asked what that was for. The bf said: "Wala lang. Para maganda background sa shoot. Extra gift ko lang. Kasama nung flower." That made sense so I believed. (Though deep in my head I'm already thinking of whatever that is you're thinking. But we can't be an ~assumera~ lol.)
Kir (the photographer) continued to take our photos while the video is playing. All good. The crazy thought I had almost disappeared until the last few minutes of the video... where an old tweet of mine flashed and I saw Don-don reach something from his pocket, went down on his knees, and popped the question that was on the screen.
I. WAS. BREATHLESS.
My heartbeat intensified. My legs were jelly.
But of course, in one of the best moments of my life, my jeje self had to kick in. My initial answer was: (in a very shaky voice) "Weh??? 'Di nga???" followed by "Alam nila mama?". After hearing his answer, I said yes. Y'all know it.
Before I forget, the dinner at Blackbird didn't also go as planned. The dinner for 2 was actually a dinner for 11!!! It was an engagement dinner!!!
So, there you have it guys. Don-don and I are engaged!!! I'm marrying my high school sweetheart, my first and last boyfriend! 😭💕"
